In continuation to the directions by Honourable Supreme Court in its order dated 24/07/2026, {Copy<<<>>} BSNL filed CM in High Court Chandigarh for early hearing in the main writ petition & to decide it expeditiously. The permission was also asked to go ahead with CAO Promotions.
Honourable HC Chandigarh heard the CM and cleared that though Hon. Supreme Court has passed that there are vacancies and the promotions are not being allowed, the High Court in the present case has already allowed promotions while admitting the writ petition subject to the outcome of the pending writ petition.
Further, as directed by Hon SC for early hearing and deciding the pending writ petition, Hon HC gave opportunity to the advocate of BSNL to argue the case, but the Advocate appearing in the court submitted that the arguing advocate is in Delhi and hence not able to appear. Accordingly CM filed by BSNL is dismissed. Copy<<<>>
With this, the major hurdle in AO to CAO Promotion is cleared and only required is issue of seniority raised in Ankur Singh case in CAT Kolkata and for that BSNL has called legal opinion which is awaited for long time. The same is also expected at time and hence with this major hurdles in AO to CAO Promotions are cleared and BSNL has to go ahead with the CAO Regular Promotions subject to outcome of the Court case. We are expecting the CAO promotion order shortly.
