This letter narrates that rejection if any should be based on substantial and justifiable reasons and applicants must be given adequate opportunity to rectify minor deficiencies in their submissions and Employers & Employees should be adequately facilitated to complying with the requirements, thereby ensuring fair and efficient processing of applications for Higher Pension wages.

This very important directions in view of negative and careless approach by certain EPFO offices /officers rejecting cases in masses.

This issue  mass rejection of EPF Higher Pension option was raised by delegation of SNEA AP Circle during Gunter visit of Honorable Minister of State Communications Respected Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemassani ji, and he was kind enough to assure SNEA delegation and write a special letter to MoLE.

The issues were further raised by NCOA with EPFO Office Delhi and also with Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoLE), Government of India wherein MoLE has given directions for audit of all rejected cases by a specialized team of CAs (Chartered Accountants) and EPFO also directed to deploy own audit teams for the scrutiny of  rejected Cases.

This will definitely give some relief to all Executives who have submitted the option for higher pension and whose cases are rejected or not yet decided by EPFO and this will help the executives in BSNL and BSNL as employer to submit the pending Higher Pension cases by minor corrective actions and submission of required /missing documents if any.

All individuals and EPF Nodal Officers have to act proactively and see that no application for Higher Pension Wages by Executives/ Employees is rejected by EPFO.
