Content of Speech in Telugu: Shri. Bastipati Nagaraju, Hon. MP highlights BSNL’s crucial role as the backbone of India’s telecom infrastructure, especially in rural and remote areas, where employees have shown unwavering dedication during natural disasters, national emergencies, and the COVID-19 pandemic, losing over 380 lives in the process, yet lacking proper recognition.
Currently, these employees facing severe financial hardships and professional challenges, including long-pending demands for Third Pay Revision Commission (PRC) implementation, unresolved retired pension revisions, salary disparities between deputation and regular employees, reduced medical facilities impacting morale and neglect despite their contributions to Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives like indigenous 4G/5G technology and Bharat Net.
He urges the Central Government to intervene immediately on three key points:
ü Waive eligibility conditions for Third PRC and fully implement non-executive pay scales,
ü Revise pensions independent of profits/losses to match central government pensioners;
ü Provide one-time CCS rule selection under 1972 norms for employees appointed via DoT before BSNL’s formation.
ü He emphasizes that justice for BSNL employees is not just policy but honoring national service.
