Dedicated team of Electrical wing, Pune BA and MH Circle has taken special initiatives for saving huge money of BSNL on electricity Charges for Mahadji Shinde Telephone Exchange Building, Pune with conversation of Commercial to Industrial electricity tariff as same has been approved by MSEDCL w.e.f. 01/05/2025. Due to this Commercial billing tariffs, BSNL was paying extra Electricity charges of Rs 70 Lakhs per month and Rs 8.4 Crores per annum and this amount will be now reduced with use of electricity charges as per Industrial tariff.
This team of Electrical wing consisting of Shri. Virendra Satpute EEE Pune, Shri. Abhijeet Gujar, SDEE MHS Bldg, Shri Rahul Dhokate, JOTE MHS Bldg Pune, Shri. Sanjay Lingayat JTO JOTE MHS Bldg Pune, Shri Subash Desai, JTOE Mumbai and Mrs. Shilpa Bhatkar JTOE Mumbai in active support of Shri Bhushan Chikhlikar SEE Mumbai under valuable guidance of Shri Dhanajay Kumar Sr CEE Mumbai and Shri Bhatambare PGM Pune BA have devotedly pursued this issue with regular follow ups with officers of MSEDCL HQ Mumbai by submitting all required documents for conversion of Commercial Tariff to Industrial Tariff.

SNEA CHQ congratulates the team of Electrical wing Pune BA and MH Circle for such extraordinary efforts and appeals all the executives in BSNL to taken note of this and check the tariff applied for the Electricity connectivity for their Telephone Exchanges /Establishments and if it is Commercial, then it may be please get converted to Industrial tariff and save huge Money of BSNL being paid on under such avoidable head. If alone Mahadji Shinde Exchange Pune can save Rs 8.4 Crores of BSNL per annum, naturally number of hundreds of Crores of rupees will be saved all over India.
For approval of upgraded Standard pay scales we need about Rs 100 Crores and such efforts to save BSNL Money by such 10 to 12 Big Exchange Building can save Rs 100 Cores which is expenditure for approval of Upgraded Standard Pay Scales for affected executives in BSNL.
In similar manner, if we could save such unwanted expenditure for 100 big Exchange Buildings all over India, we will be in position to get our 3rd PRC Implemented without any further hurdles. In lack of such strong initiatives well within time, huge hard earned money of BSNL is being wasted and hence it is need of time that we all executives have to be more alert and save every penny of BSNL being wasted in this way.
